College Essay Coaching

The hardest part of the college essay isn’t the writing — it’s believing you have a story worth telling. You do. My job is to help you find it, shape it, and tell it in a voice that’s unmistakably yours.

I’ve spent 5+ years coaching high school and college students through exactly this, with specialized training in supporting student writers. The process is collaborative from the first brainstorm: we dig for the moments only you can write about, build an outline that carries them, and then edit drafts together — with me explaining the why behind every suggestion, so you’re learning craft, not just accepting changes.

How we’ll work together

1. To — We start with where you’re applying and what each school asks, then brainstorm the raw material: the stories, details, and turns of thought that make you memorable.
2. Through — Drafts, honestly and kindly edited. Expect margin notes, questions, and the occasional celebration when a sentence lands.
3. Beyond — You finish with essays you’re proud of and skills that follow you into every paper you’ll write in college.
