I just finished Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara, and I can honestly say it’s one of the most inspiring stories I’ve ever read. I already want to reread it!

“It needs to be clear and simple and easily understood, so that any time you’re making any decision, no matter how big or small, you can rely on it as a filter to decide. Will taking an action help you achieve the goal laid out in the mission statement? Or will it take you away from that goal? That way, the decision is already made for you — all you have to do is ask yourself the question.”
A mission statement is vitally important to communicating who an organization is and what it does — and to ensuring that actions, decisions, and services always stay aligned to that mission.
“Language is how you create a culture.”
Being intentional about your language makes a huge impact on how your organization’s culture is understood and perceived. And ultimately, perception is reality. Choosing the right language increases the likelihood of your message resonating with your audience.
